Ketchup Is Not A Vegetable!

Name That Fruit!

Ever seen a guava before?  It’s a tropical fruit that packs a nutritious punch, with loads of Vitamin C and fiber, as well as Vitamin A, folate, potassium, copper and manganese.  Best of all, it tastes delicious – something like a cross between a pear and a lime.  And the scent is heavenly – a few ripe guavas will keep the whole kitchen smelling great!

The guava is ready to eat when it gives off its beautiful aroma and the flesh gives slightly to pressure.  You may want to scoop out the seeds, which are very hard, but you can eat the skin.  Some guavas stay green on the outside when they're ripe, and others are red inside.

But that's not all!  Guavas also have many medicinal uses, which Jen Miller describes here – as well as providing 6 delicious recipes for you to try.
